Membrana is committed to championing new voices and is open to unsolicited submissions for articles of original research, visual projects, essays, review and critique. Please note that we rarely accept submissions of already written texts; we prefer to discuss possible themes in advance. This is why we have put in place a proposal system that can grant both editors and authors the time to ensure that all submissions are well-considered.
Before making a proposal, we expect you to check that your idea fits with the aims and and scope of our magazine (for more information – About Us).
Proposals can either respond to the Call for Papers, or be of a more general type (but still fit in with what we usually publish). We appreciate innovative approaches and bold perspectives on photography that are written well and in accordance with academic standards. We also accept visual projects that approach photography in novel and daring ways.
For more details about submission and project/article requirements check Submission Guidelines. If you have any additional questions, we are happy to answer them personally. To contact us please make use of the Contact Form provided.
We also offer an Open Access (OA) option in exchange for an Article Processing Charge (APC).
