Subscribe in order to get unlimited one-year access to some of the most relevant and innovative perspectives on photography today. Membrana strives to publish well-written and generally engaging writing that adheres to the highest academic standards. We provide a platform for pertinent articles of original research, insightful essays that have a bearing upon our understanding of photography, in-depth interviews with seminal figures in the field, penetrating visual projects, reviews and critique.
All subscriptions are renewed automatically after one year but can be cancelled at any time, in which case access will be valid until the expiry date set upon your purchase. Billed annually.
You may also purchase individual PDF files of articles, interviews and essays (links and prices are listed in the PDF tab on each individual contribution).

You may choose one of the three basic subscriptions, listed below. It is possible for all individual subscribers to purchase all PDF files for download, either separately or through Membrana PDF Add-on subscription.

Get unlimited digital access to every issue of Membrana — available in one place and accessible on all devices for the duration of one year. The online archive will be updated with each new issue as it comes out. Price: 48€
Online & Print - Europe
Receive two printed issues of Membrana delivered to your home address in Europe, with digital access to all content, including our entire archive. Membrana is published twice a year, in summer and in winter. Price: 78€
Online & Print - Worldwide
Receive two printed issues of Membrana delivered to your home address anywhere in the world, with digital access to all content, including our entire archive. Price: 98€
Membrana PDF
If you are already subscribed to Online or Online & Print subscriptions, you may purchase yearly renewed PDF Add-on to access and download all online content in PDF format. Price: 24€
For institutions
To universities, colleges, libraries and research institutions we offer access to Membrana online edition (HTML), digital edition (PDF) and printed edition. Scholars, students will have to opportunity to search our archive online or in the libraries. Membrana is published twice a year, in summer and in winter. If you wish to explore other options or have any specific demands, please get in touch!
Institutional Print
This subscription includes a year’s worth of printed issues of Membrana (published biannually in summer and in winter). You will receive 2 copies of each issue with basic subscription, but you may always get in touch if you wish to purchase additional copies or back issues. Price: 250€
Institutional Online
Digital only subscription enables institutional access to our online (HTML) content and provides you with PDF’s of our entire archive. Price: 250€
Institutional Online & Print
This subscription includes a year’s worth of printed issues of Membrana (published biannually in summer and in winter – two copies of each) and grants institutional access to online content, as well as all PDF’s, including the entire archive. Get in touch if you wish to purchase additional copies or back issues. Price: 350€
Membrana for Authors
Have you contributed to Membrana? You may request your Membrana for Authors subscription, free of charge, for the duration of 6 months per each issue containing your contribution. This subscription must be manually approved by our administrators. In case you do not receive access within 48 hours of your request, please contact us!
