I started Tigre en Papier to set a small business, but it gradually became more of an artistic project in the period when hand-made products spread. Soon, I learned that I did not have the nature for that kind of job as I am rather liable to experiment and changes. The name of the project was picked haphazardly and means “seemingly dangerous”; the origin of the expression is supposedly Chinese, but I preferred the stylish vibration of its French translation. From fashion to installation, Tigre en Papier traverses a multitude of mediums, through which it expresses ideas such as ephemerality, identity, or deception. In many of my pictures, I arrange juxtapositions, reinterpretations of pretty well-known subjects, and various intersections.
Sibi – Bogdan Teodorescu was born in 1980 in Galați, Romania. He graduated from the University of Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca (RO) in 2003 and the National University of Arts in Bucharest in 2005 with a Master’s degree. As a child, Sibi was very fond of nature and animals and wanted to become either a naturalist or an explorer. His work spans various areas such as sculpture, installation, photography, and even performance. Many of his artistic features can be outlined through collage technique as reassembling, adjusting or re-contextualization as well as heterogeneity. Often employing the term “limit”, Sibi shows a fascination for common places and for minor arts. His almost irregular work requires dynamic definitions, without any need for limpidness.
